Position overview
As a Service Professional Electrician, you will work directly with customers throughout the Largo - Tampa service area to deliver high-quality, code-compliant electrical solutions across a variety of project types. The work mix is broad, including commercial service, residential service, and dock electrical work, providing variety from one job to the next. You will troubleshoot and resolve both simple and complex electrical issues, educate customers on the best course of action, and present transparent flat-rate pricing options. You will also mentor an assigned apprentice, helping to develop the next generation of skilled electricians on our team. What you will be doing
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide effective, code-compliant solutions, with detailed explanations of options and recommendations to customers.
- Identify and resolve safety hazards and code violations across commercial, residential, and dock electrical systems.
- Repair or replace electrical wiring, fixtures, panels, circuit breakers, and equipment to ensure safety, functionality, and code compliance.
- Perform dock electrical work — including installations, repairs, and upgrades — in accordance with the NEC and applicable Florida marine electrical standards.
- Install conduit systems, feeder wire, and electrical panels in commercial and residential settings.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics for commercial, residential, and dock projects.
- Measure, cut, and bend conduit to fit various installations.
- Perform safety checks on electrical equipment to ensure compliance with the NEC and all applicable safety regulations.
- Offer flat-rate pricing options to customers and ensure transparent, professional communication on every job.
- Acquire all materials necessary to complete approved service calls and projects efficiently.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professionalism, positive communication, and expert service.
- Identify and present additional service opportunities to support customer safety and satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate job records, including work performed, materials used, and time spent.
- Train, mentor, and provide hands-on guidance to assigned apprentices to promote skill development and safe work practices.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with customers, the office, and team members to ensure job completion and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area during and after every service call.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety protocols, including the safe operation of a company vehicle.
Required qualifications
- Florida Journeyperson Electrician License or a Journeyperson license with reciprocity in Florida — with a minimum of 3 years of field experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable Florida and local codes.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
- Strong proficiency in English — both written and verbal — to ensure effective communication with customers, team members, and the office.
- Ability to work with hand tools and safely operate power tools.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds, squat, bend, and climb ladders as required by the job.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel daily within the Largo - Tampa service area.
Paid time off & holidays
