Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, and commercial environments
- Perform service calls, repairs, and preventative maintenance on industrial electrical systems, equipment, and production machinery
- Install, repair, and replace panels, transformers, motor controls, disconnects, VFDs, and distribution systems
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLC-related systems, motors, and control circuits (as applicable)
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-lines, control drawings, and technical documents
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and support continuous plant operations
- Ensure all work complies with NEC codes, OSHA standards, and site-specific safety protocols
- Work safely around energized systems, production equipment, and industrial environments
- Communicate clearly with plant managers, maintenance teams, and supervisors regarding system issues and repairs
- Document service work, repairs, and maintenance activities accurately
- Maintain service vehicle, tools, and testing equipment in a safe and organized condition
- Respond to urgent or emergency plant service calls, including after-hours as needed
- Cookordinate with operations, maintenance teams, and other trades to ensure minimal disruption to production
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED
- Journeyman Electrician license preferred (if required by state/local regulations)
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in industrial or plant electrical service work
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, and power distribution
- Experience working in manufacturing plants, processing facilities, or heavy commercial environments
- Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, and automation systems preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in high-voltage and control systems
- Ability to work independently in active plant environments with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (company vehicle may be provided)
