Responsible for assisting all Distribution Business customers, technicians, and other parts personnel in securing needed parts and supplies under moderate or direct supervision.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers at the parts counter, over the phone, and through email with parts inquiries and orders
- Source and identify parts using catalogs, systems, and internal resources to meet customer needs
- Process customer transactions including cash, check, and credit card payments
- Support shipping, receiving, inventory management, and warehouse activities
- Maintain accurate records and process required paperwork related to parts sales and orders
- Build strong relationships with internal and external customers by providing timely support
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Greet customers warmly, assess their needs, and provide accurate information about products and services
- Operate cash registers, process cash and credit card transactions
- Answer incoming phone calls, respond to basic email inquiries, and direct customers to the appropriate department
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked front counter to ensure a professional and welcoming environment
- Resolve customer questions, concerns, and complaints professionally, escalating complex issues to management when necessary
- Support service team with parts when needed
Requirements
- Experience in customer service, parts sales, warehouse operations, or inventory management
- Ability to identify and source parts using catalogs, systems, and other resources
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and computer systems
- Experience processing orders, handling transactions, and maintaining accurate records
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, generating reports, and advanced level computer skills
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
- Requires some work experience or intermediate level of knowledge obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience
Pay
Salary range: $48,800 – $73,200
