Responsible for assisting all Distribution Business customers, technicians, and other parts personnel in securing needed parts and supplies under moderate or direct supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers at the parts counter, over the phone, and through email with parts inquiries and orders
  • Source and identify parts using catalogs, systems, and internal resources to meet customer needs
  • Process customer transactions including cash, check, and credit card payments
  • Support shipping, receiving, inventory management, and warehouse activities
  • Maintain accurate records and process required paperwork related to parts sales and orders
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external customers by providing timely support
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Greet customers warmly, assess their needs, and provide accurate information about products and services
  • Operate cash registers, process cash and credit card transactions
  • Answer incoming phone calls, respond to basic email inquiries, and direct customers to the appropriate department
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked front counter to ensure a professional and welcoming environment
  • Resolve customer questions, concerns, and complaints professionally, escalating complex issues to management when necessary
  • Support service team with parts when needed

Requirements

  • Experience in customer service, parts sales, warehouse operations, or inventory management
  • Ability to identify and source parts using catalogs, systems, and other resources
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and computer systems
  • Experience processing orders, handling transactions, and maintaining accurate records
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, generating reports, and advanced level computer skills
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
  • Requires some work experience or intermediate level of knowledge obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience

Pay

Salary range: $48,800 – $73,200
