About the role

Municipal Emergency Services (MES), the nation's largest provider of firefighter equipment and service, is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead a regional field service team. This leadership role is ideal for someone who enjoys developing people, improving operations, building customer relationships, and delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach a team of field service technicians.
  • Participate in hiring processes for your assigned territory.
  • Oversee scheduling and daily service operations.
  • Build strong relationships with fire departments and municipal customers.
  • Partner with Sales to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Travel regularly throughout your region to support technicians and customers.
  • Monitor KPIs, improve operational performance, and drive business results.
  • Take ownership of customer issues until they are resolved.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, safety, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of field service leadership experience.
  • Background in fire service equipment, HVAC, automotive, heavy equipment, industrial maintenance, medical equipment, utilities, or similar industries.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Valid driver's license (REAL-ID required for access to federal facilities).
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience leading field service or technical service operations.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, business software, and systems.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading and managing mobile technicians (preferred).
  • Experience with ERP or service management software (preferred).
  • Mechanical aptitude (preferred).
  • Experience managing KPIs and operational performance (preferred).
