Service Manager Responsibilities
- Filing warranty claims with the equipment manufacturer.
- Scheduling technicians' work schedules and approving time off.
- Training service staff using best practices in customer satisfaction and brand promotion.
- Developing, maintaining, and adhering to a priority system for scheduling all service work.
- Generating service invoices and ensuring accurate invoicing.
- Completing and filing manufacturer warranty and Product Improvement Program claims in a timely manner.
- Scheduling and assigning job and work areas to employees based on their skills and knowledge.
- Maintaining service equipment and ensuring its availability and proper functioning.
- Making recommendations for purchasing service vehicles and completing maintenance records.
- Coordinating dealership training programs and service-related customer clinics.
- Conducting oneself professionally at all times, both inside and outside the dealership.
- Monitoring and reporting on departmental performance metrics.
Requirements
- A high school diploma/GED.
- At least 3 years of experience in a Service Manager position or equivalent background as a Service Tech/Mechanic.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, handle people, and manage pressure.
