Service Lead

About the role

The Service Lead at Sunstate Equipment Co. assists the Branch Manager and/or Service Manager with shop flow and service quality to ensure timely, accurate service and repair to the rental and delivery fleet.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and assign repairs of all “downed” equipment to ensure it is quickly brought back into service within company guidelines.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance and major repairs approximately 75% of the time.
• Ensure that all mechanics properly and timely complete documentation, monitor part orders and expenses.
• Maintain a safe working environment and ensure a clean and orderly shop environment.
• Conduct thorough inspections, servicing, testing, and refueling equipment prior to tagging it “Ready to Rent.”
• Provide frequent feedback to service leadership on shop activities and individual performance.
• Collaborate to establish daily work priorities of shop and yard employees.
• Facilitate effective communication with shop via huddles, meetings, and one-on-one interactions.
• Avoid safety incidents/violations by reporting them promptly to Branch and/or Service Manager.
• Assist with general yard person duties including customer assistance, washing and staging of equipment, delivering or picking-up equipment to or from job sites as needed, and maintaining company vehicles in accordance with established standards.
• May assist with training new mechanics.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Consistently adhere to safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Possess mechanical knowledge of construction equipment.
• Ability to demonstrate basic computer and typing skills.
• Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly.
• Ability to focus on details and complete tasks with accuracy.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English, bilingual is a plus.
• Full range of motion, agility, and strength to lift one's body into/out of large vehicles, trailers, equipment.
• Capable of normally lifting 25 lbs., frequently lifting 50 lbs., and occasionally lifting 90 lbs. with the assistance of mechanical aid or lift assistance.
• Minimum age of 21 years required to drive.
• Requires a valid driver license and ability to maintain a good driving record qualifying to safely drive a Company vehicle for work purposes.

Branch Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday, 6AM-4PM

Pay

Pay Range: $39.90 - $47.30/HR dependent on experience.
