About The Role
An established UK manufacturer of specialist commercial vehicle equipment is seeking a dedicated Service Engineer to support customers across Scotland. This role combines factory-based work with mobile field service activities, providing a varied and hands-on environment. The successful candidate will carry out repairs, servicing, inspections, and fault diagnosis both at company facilities and at customer locations, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair specialist vehicle bodies and associated equipment on customer vehicles.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults, implementing effective solutions efficiently.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers, operators, and dealership personnel.
- Carry out routine inspections to ensure equipment remains compliant with relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Work closely with internal departments to identify opportunities for product and service improvements.
- Accurately document maintenance, repair, and warranty activities.
- Keep up to date with new technologies, product developments, and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Service Engineer, Field Service Engineer, or similar role within the commercial vehicle, automotive, agricultural, plant, or heavy machinery sectors.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, particularly in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience working with commercial vehicle systems would be advantageous.
Schedule
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:45pm
- Friday: 7:30am – 12:30pm
