Service Engineer

Main Responsibilities

• Fielding and troubleshooting customer service inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions to assemble and service equipment.
• Identifying and resolving equipment malfunctions, including coordinating with customers or field representatives to obtain replacement parts when needed.
• Testing units using standard test equipment and analyzing results to assess performance and determine required adjustments.
• Adjusting or replacing defective or improperly functioning circuitry or components using appropriate hand tools and techniques.
• Assembling, testing, and maintaining circuitry and components according to engineering specifications, technical manuals, and established procedures.
• Visiting customer sites as needed to repair, commission, or support equipment in the field.
• Performing other duties as assigned to support the technical service function.

What We Expect from You

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Field, or related discipline; or an Associate degree with at least three years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and hands-on technical experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and cross-functional teams.
• A strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, with the ability to apply engineering principles in a practical environment.
• Experience using test equipment such as multimeters, gauges, and similar diagnostic tools.
• Strong critical thinking, active listening, and time management skills.
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• An excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

• Prior experience in field service, technical support, or manufacturing environments.
• Exposure to cryogenic systems, vacuum systems, or complex electromechanical equipment.
• Experience working with cross-functional engineering, sales, or service teams.
• A strong focus on attention to detail, safety, and quality in all aspects of work.
• Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and processes.
• A proactive, customer-focused mindset with a strong sense of accountability.
• The ability to perform physical job requirements, including frequent standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands and fingers; occasional stooping, kneeling, or crouching; and lifting up to 25 lbs regularly, with up to 50 lbs occasionally in manufacturing environments.
• A visual capability including close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Experience working in both office and manufacturing environments with exposure to moving mechanical parts, temperature variations, airborne particles, vibration, and electrical hazards while adhering to PPE requirements.
