Service Engineer
Contract to Hire position based in Dallas, TX. Anticipated close date: Sep 1, 2026.
About the role
As a Service Engineer, you will assist with installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining a variety of coordinate measuring machines (CMM), machine tools, and accessories. You will play a crucial role in identifying, analyzing, and repairing failures, ordering and replacing parts as needed, and providing customer training.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation and maintenance of machines, including diagnosis, repairs, troubleshooting, certifications, and re-calibration to meet factory specifications and accuracy standards.
- Answer basic customer questions about product features.
- Support service calls to customer sites to correct problems involving company products, diagnose basic problems, and perform related duties to customer satisfaction.
- Assist with providing technical support to other service representatives and customers.
- Ensure prompt preparation and completion of service and expense reporting.
- Provide the highest customer satisfaction in a professional manner.
- Perform basic mechanical tasks, including assembly, disassembly, leveling, diagnosis, and repair of issues on automated equipment.
- Perform basic electrical tasks, including diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of control systems.
- Complete preventative maintenance and field modifications.
- Keep up-to-date with administrative responsibilities such as customer service logs and internal service records.
- Maintain tools and test equipment, ensuring they are properly calibrated.
- Maintain daily communications with customers, ensuring resolution and proper follow-up to any issues.
Work Environment
This role requires 100% travel, working directly at customer sites, including some major clients like GE and Apple. The position involves:
- Frequent standing, walking, and sitting for long periods.
- Regular bending and kneeling.
- Manual dexterity for keyboard use and operating equipment.
- Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
- Vision abilities including close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Frequent communication with employees and customers.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr. Individual compensation within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
