Service Employee (Meadowbrook/South Salt Lake)

About the Role

Prepare buses for daily service. Responsible for cleaning and servicing buses including fueling, monitoring and recording fluid levels, inspecting lights and tires, removing trash, wiping down interior, sweeping and mopping, washing exterior, and reporting any issues to mechanics. May be required to clean up graffiti and biohazard as necessary. Perform shop clean-up, operate maintenance equipment, and other shop and yard tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service buses (fueling, monitoring fluid levels, inspecting lights and tires)
• Remove trash and wipe down interior surfaces
• Sweep, mop, and wash bus exteriors
• Report mechanical issues to mechanics
• Clean up graffiti and biohazards as needed
• Perform shop clean-up and operate maintenance equipment
• Complete yard tasks as directed by supervisor
• Safely move vehicles within confined yard locations
• Measure fluid levels, read meters, and record data

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to identify various fluid types by sight
• Ability to learn safe driving techniques for moving vehicles in confined spaces
• Ability to measure fluid levels, read meters, and record data
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to acquire and maintain a DOT card
• Valid Utah driver’s license
• Safe driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
• No DUI violations within the last 10 years
• Ability to obtain Class B CDL with air brakes and passenger endorsements within 60 days of eligibility
• Ability to maintain forklift and other equipment certifications as required
• Basic computer skills preferred
• Knowledge of mechanical terminology preferred

Physical Requirements

• Walk distances quickly and stand/walk for prolonged periods
• Sustain continual bending, lifting, and carrying up to 25 lbs. constantly
• Work outside in all weather conditions
• Regular and predictable attendance required

Pay

$22.42/hour – $27.42/hour plus $1.00 to $1.50 shift differential (if applicable). This is a five-year wage progression.

Schedule

4:30 pm to 3:00 am with Thursday, Friday, and Saturday off. Shift and days off are subject to change.
