SERVICE COORDINATOR CSFA-NEUROSURGERY, OPERATING ROOM
About the role
The Service Coordinator CSFA plays a crucial role in preparing for complex cranial and spinal procedures. They ensure that all necessary microsurgical instruments are ready, plan advanced cases, align with neurosurgical protocols, and uphold patient safety standards. This position requires a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, surgical procedures, and aseptic techniques.
Responsibilities
- Facilitates the performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures by integrating knowledge of anatomy and physiology, surgical procedures, and aseptic techniques.
- Maintains the sterile field and anticipates the surgeon's needs.
- Establishes, implements, and maintains an inventory of supply items used by designated specialties.
- Affords assistance with product evaluation and educates staff on specialty supplies and equipment.
- Determines the effectiveness and cost efficiency of potential new products as directed by the OR Manager/Director.
Requirements
- Current CSFA certification required.
- Completed a CSFA/ST post-secondary education program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license with liability insurance.
- Access to a reliable vehicle during work hours.
- At least three (3) years of experience as a CST or CSFA.
- Previous experience in orthopedics within a surgical environment.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Physical stamina to lift and move up to 100 pounds.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility in work schedule and assignments.
- Understanding and adherence to SGMC Health policies and regulatory standards.
