Service Clerk
About the Role
This role is responsible for providing highly satisfactory service and assistance to guests, including bagging groceries, providing carry-out service, retrieving carts from the parking area, performing bottle tasks, and janitorial duties as needed. The position ensures the shift contributes to the financial best interests of the store and completes all assigned duties in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Use proper bagging supplies and techniques when handling guests' purchases.
- Empty bottle bins, clean bottle machines, and the bottle return area.
- Collect, return, clean, and organize shopping carts; assist with loading groceries into customers’ vehicles.
- Familiarize yourself with the location of products carried in the store.
- Handle spoiled or damaged products per established guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department.
- Know the location of products in the store and work independently.
- Perform cleaning duties and other assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Follow all PPE, safety, food safety, and cleaning expectations, as well as guest experience guidelines.
- May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs.
- Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (GED) preferred.
- Good oral communication skills.
- Ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.

- May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

- Subject to a typical retail store environment with varied temperatures and exposure to outside weather conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
- Travel requirements vary by assignment.
