About the Role

The Service Center/Building Operations Center (BOC) Supervisor ensures the BOC is adequately resourced with personnel, equipment, funds, training, and time management to succeed in its mission. Reporting directly to the BOC Manager, this role may involve special project management or development and requires the ability to work rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. You will thrive in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment, prioritizing customer needs and collaborating with stakeholders and government agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist management in providing guidance to the contract leadership team to maintain daily operations and the data acquisition mission.
  • Communicate short and long-range goals and objectives for the organization.
  • Maintain an aggressive staff training program addressing daily operational requirements and the BOC’s emergency response mission.
  • Supervise staff responsible for monitoring facility activities, including operational, construction, and renovation efforts for a 3-million-square-foot facility and other sites in the Washington Metropolitan Area.
  • Oversee the BOC Program, including the customer service call center and a 24/7 operations & monitoring team.
  • Consult with branch managers to determine BOC support requirements and recommend appropriate training.
  • Update and maintain the Emergency Procedures handbook.
  • Coordinate and update the Automated Calling Distribution Telephone System (ACDS) Access List and call priorities.
  • Manage updates to the Avaya Notification System as required.
  • Coordinate BOC activities to optimize staff, materials, and equipment utilization.
  • Resolve and follow up on all customer complaints/issues.
  • Represent the organization in meetings, committees, and task teams with the customer.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and upkeep of section policies, plans, and procedures to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Manage personnel, including hiring, disciplinary actions, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Assemble and submit accurate weekly, monthly, annual, and other requested reports by required deadlines.
  • Oversee QA/QC aspects of section tasks, including developing and implementing performance metrics to improve processes.
  • Coordinate with shop management and/or client personnel to execute work to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Serve as backup to ensure required coverage is maintained.
  • This position requires on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of experience in a supervisory role or similar function, preferably in a facilities maintenance environment.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent, with additional training in computer use for data entry, word processing, reporting, and spreadsheets.
  • Strong customer service background.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, direct, motivate, and execute work necessary for branch and contract success while adapting to a changing environment.
  • Understanding of client needs and strong customer relations skills.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Facilities and operations management experience.
  • Two to three years of computer experience (data entry).
  • Ability to present information effectively to individuals and small groups.
  • MAXIMO experience.
  • Proficiency in reading, speaking, writing, and understanding English.

Work Environment

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. Constant sitting while using a computer terminal, reviewing documents, and communicating. Requires constant mental alertness, planning/organizing skills, and the ability to work under deadlines.

Pay

$85,000 - $110,000 per year.
