About the role
The Service Center Operations Supervisor – 2nd Shift oversees outbound operations, implements effective strategies, ensures shipping measures and on-time delivery, and demonstrates a strong focus on continuous improvement. The role requires a commitment to safety standards and effective people leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the regional distribution center, ensuring efficient and timely inbound processes.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to streamline processes and enhance overall efficiency.
- Implement best practices to maximize productivity in receiving and handling incoming shipments.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve distribution center performance.
- Establish and enforce quality control procedures to meet or exceed industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve quality issues.
- Conduct regular inspections and implement measures to improve overall product quality.
- Ensure strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Uphold safety and compliance standards.
- Lead and inspire a team of distribution center staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and training to team members to enhance performance and skill development.
- Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet operational demands.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations within the distribution center.
- Conduct regular safety training sessions and promote a culture of safety among team members.
- Investigate and address any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
- Cultivate a positive organizational culture.
- Encourage teamwork, innovation, and a commitment to excellence.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Implement and oversee continuous improvement initiatives within the distribution center.
Requirements
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- High school diploma required.
- Proven experience in distribution center management, with a focus on inbound and inventory control/quality assurance operations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of logistics and supply chain processes.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technologies.
Pay
Annual salary: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00
