Server - Thunder Road Grill

About the role

The Server is responsible for servicing and anticipating each guest's needs.

Responsibilities

• Uses salesmanship to increase check averages.
• Checks IDs to determine guest's legal age and upholds all state and local liquor laws (if applicable).
• Rings orders into POS system and communicates additional information to bartenders and cooks.
• Ensures proper cash, credit card, and gift card processing procedures.
• Maintains company time standards for greeting guests, getting drink/food orders, and processing payments.
• Ensures all food and drinks are within company standards of quality and freshness.
• Observes and responds to guests.
• Handles guest comments in a professional manner and gets management when necessary.
• Clean as you go, clear plates and glasses throughout the meal (pre-bus).
• Follows food safety and general sanitation guidelines.
• Completes all daily, opening and closing side work.
• Get checked out by management before leaving the building.
• Assists with events as needed.
• Provides friendly and competent customer service.
• Reports for work in a timely manner when scheduled.

Requirements

• Able to work the POS system efficiently.
• Able to listen to guests, respond verbally, and interact with Team Members.
• Able to assist with events, or willing to be cross-trained.
• Able to read, write, and perform math skills.
• Able to have a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
• Able to be flexible with the ability to adapt to change when required.
• Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills.
• Able to be well groomed and follow the company uniform standard.
• Able to work holidays and weekends.
• Able to have reliable transportation and phone.
• Able to communicate in English.

Qualifications

• Restaurant, retail or guest service experience preferred.

Skills

• Working knowledge of the food menu.
• Working knowledge of all beverages offered.
• Ability to refill beverages when necessary.
• Ability to complete daily, opening and closing side work.
• Ability to assist with events, or willingness to be cross-trained.
