Essential Responsibilities
- Follow all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
- Ensure proper use, care, and maintenance of equipment; report repair needs promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all work areas.
- Maintain full knowledge of: table/seat numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, contact information, and restaurant setup.
- All spirits, beers, non-alcoholic beverages, glassware, and garnishes.
- The wine-by-the-glass program and characteristics of each selection.
- All menu items, preparation methods, ingredients, and quality standards.
- Local vendors and farmers.
- POS and reservation systems.
- Ensure assigned station is properly set and clean before, during, and after shifts.
- Confirm service ware condition and ensure items meet standards.
- Greet guests warmly, anticipate needs, and provide attentive, professional service.
- Stay knowledgeable about hotel services and local attractions to assist guests.
- Communicate specials and promotions clearly.
- Take and accurately record food and beverage orders; enter orders into POS.
- Retrieve and serve beverages, ensuring accuracy, appropriate garnishes, and correct glassware.
- Serve wine bottles according to standards.
- Comply with all liquor laws and company alcohol service policies.
- Preset tables as needed.
- Deliver food orders (up to 50 lbs), verifying accuracy and presentation.
- Refill beverages, check guest satisfaction, clear courses, and remove soiled items promptly.
- Aid in resolving guest complaints by involving management appropriately.
- Present desserts and specialty beverages.
- Present checks promptly and follow cash-handling and payment procedures.
- Clear and reset tables efficiently.
- Complete assigned side work and general cleaning tasks.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
- Experience: Availability aligned with Town Company hours required, Wednesday - Sunday 4pm - 12am. Minimum two years of food and beverage serving experience; fine dining experience preferred. Strong knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette preferred. Strong organizational skills required.
- Skills: Ability to remember, recite, and promote the entire variety of exciting menu items. Ability to lift, pull and push up to 50lbs. Work Environment: Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 50lbs through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift. Ability to operate beverage and toast equipment. Ability to operate a keyboard and learn Point of Sale procedures to pre-check order and close out the guest check. Ability to stand, walk, and continuously perform essential functions for an extended period of time.
