Server - The Cafe at Mission Pacific (Full Time)
About the role
The Café is the signature all-day dining outlet of Mission Pacific Beach Resort, a Hyatt property on the Oceanside waterfront. We serve from sunrise to sunset — serious food, craft coffee, and a full bar program — in a space that is equal parts neighborhood café and elevated hospitality experience. Our team moves fast, cares deeply, and takes real pride in what they put in front of people.
As a Server, you will be responsible for submitting guest menu selections and presenting these food and beverage preferences. You will gain menu knowledge and give recommendations from our compilation of cuisine and drink offerings. A Hyatt restaurant server engages in casual conversation and creates the restaurant experience through their style and service attributes. You will memorize menu items and stay knowledgeable about any items that may be out.

Responsibilities
- Submit guest menu selections and present food and beverage preferences
- Develop menu knowledge and provide recommendations
- Engage in casual conversation to enhance the guest experience
- Memorize menu items and stay informed about unavailable items

Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of server experience
- Experience in a full-service or hotel food and beverage environment preferred
- Ability to stand for a minimum 8-hour shift
- Ability to lift, carry, and move at least 50 pounds
- Strong multitasking ability
- Warm, confident, and professional under pressure — speed and warmth are not opposites
- Punctuality and reliability
- Ability to work outdoors for long periods of time
- Open availability including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
Pay
The hourly rate for this position is $17.00/hr.
