About the role

As a Server Systems Administrator within Epic's Hosting entity, you will ensure our systems are in optimal condition, supporting healthcare organizations through Epic's software. You'll contribute to tool development, troubleshooting, and system monitoring, working closely with developers, technical support, software testers, and implementation specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain operating systems and troubleshoot code
  • Monitor system health and create disaster and contingency plans
  • Share expert knowledge in systems and database administration
  • Coordinate with third-party hardware vendors
  • Collaborate with developers, technical support, software testers, and implementation specialists
  • Build valuable industry-wide skills in IT
  • Perform high-stakes, critical work that enhances healthcare providers' ability to deliver care

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Physics, Engineering, MIS, or other hard science
  • History of academic and professional success
  • Experience with Linux or Windows system administration, virtualization, scripting, automation, or DevOps processes
  • Willingness to travel 1-2 weeks per year
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
  • Available to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift
