Server Systems Administrator
About the role
As a Server Systems Administrator within Epic's Hosting entity, you will ensure our systems are in optimal condition to support healthcare organizations using our software. You will develop tools, troubleshoot code, monitor system health, and create disaster recovery plans. Your work impacts every area of Epic, allowing developers, technical support, software testers, and implementation specialists to collaborate effectively.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain tools for operating systems
- Debug and troubleshoot code
- Monitor system health
- Create disaster and contingency plans
- Share expert knowledge in systems and database administration
- Coordinate with third-party hardware vendors
- Collaborate with developers, technical support, software testers, and implementation specialists
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Physics, Engineering, MIS, or other hard science
- Experience in Linux or Windows system administration, virtualization, scripting, automation, or DevOps processes
- Willingness to travel 1-2 weeks per year
- Eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
- Available to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift
