About the role
The Server is responsible for the set-up, service, and breakdown of food and beverages to guests at all Q Center functions, ensuring quality service and guest satisfaction according to Q Center Standards. This is an on-site position with a varying schedule that can include days, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Perform preparatory tasks, opening/closing duties, and side work to ensure prompt and efficient guest service.
- Be familiar with the menu of the assigned function and serve guests according to Q Center’s standards in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
- Set all tables, buffet stations, dining room buffets, bussing stations, and bars according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain all service area storerooms in a neat and orderly manner, stocking them with appropriate supplies for food service functions.
- Clean up function spaces after events, ensuring all equipment and supplies are cleaned, stored, and restocked properly.
- Respond to guest problems, complaints, and accidents, communicating with management as necessary.
- Adhere to all BASSET procedures while serving liquor to ensure a safe and controlled environment, reporting any issues with intoxicated guests to management.
- Follow all money-handling procedures when serving guests.
- Provide accurate descriptions of menu items for each function to ensure guest satisfaction and safety.
- Keep immediate supervisor informed of all problems or matters requiring their attention.
- Remain attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests and fellow associates at all times.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Customer service experience required; experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- BASSET and Food Handler certifications or equivalent.
- Ability to stand for entire shifts and perform medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently.
- Flexibility to work long and varying hours, including days, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Pay
