About the role
The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is a private, not-for-profit educational, historic, and cultural institution located in Williamsburg, Virginia. It aims to preserve and restore 18th-century Williamsburg, engaging visitors in learning about the area's history and diverse peoples.
Responsibilities
- Serve guests food and beverages in the manner and style of an 18th-century eating establishment.
- Describe and explain 18th-century tavern culture to guests.
- Process orders through Point-of-Sale system.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant server experience or guest relations experience is required.
- Must be at least 18 years old due to Virginia A.B.C. regulations.
- Demonstrated excellent public contact skills.
- Successful candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a current Williamsburg James City County food handler’s card and TIPS® certification.
- Applicants must have no felony convictions, crimes involving moral turpitude, or drug-related offenses within the past five years.
Physical requirements
- Standing, stooping, and bending.
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Extensive use of stairs.
