Server/Bartender (Part-Time)

About the role

The role’s primary responsibility is to welcome guests, take orders, prepare and serve food and beverages items to guests in a friendly, courteous and timely manner in accordance with quality standards.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality and providing exceptional guest service. The restaurant is opened every day for breakfast and Tuesday-Saturday for dinner. Must have open availability to work morning shifts (6AM-12PM) and/or evening shifts (2PM-9PM or 4PM-11PM). Required to work 3 shifts per week with an opportunity to pick up more.

• Greet, welcome, and interact with guests in a warm and friendly manner.
• Take orders, prepare drinks according to recipes and serve all food and beverage requests in the bar.
• Demonstrate complete knowledge of the food and beverage menu.
• Prepare the bar for service by ensuring bar supplies, garnishes, utensils are properly set up in accordance with quality standards.
• Inventory unused liquor and beverages. Ensure that all liquor is properly secured before, during, and at close of shift.
• Adhere to all cash handling and credit card policies and procedures. Ensure that all drink orders from servers are accurately rung into the P.O.S. system.
• Clean and reset bartop and tables immediately after guests depart.
• Complete all closing duties and reports as assigned.
• Secure all liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets and storage areas.
• Adhere to established safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Adhere to uniform and grooming standards.
• Perform other duties or projects as requested by management.

Requirements

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Majority of work takes place indoors. Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures - i.e. kitchens, freezers. Must be flexible to work variable days of the week to include weekends and holidays. Ten to twelve hour shifts sometimes required.

Qualifications

Experience as a Server/Bartender required, preferably in a high-volume bar. Experience with computerized cash registers preferred. High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.

• Able to work quickly without compromising quality.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
• Attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.
• Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for entire shift.
• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
• Food handlers and TIPS certificates required.
• Previous front facing guest service experience required.
• Must read, write and speak the English language fluently.

Pay

Pay Range: $21.30 + Tips. Base pay offered is reflective of minimum wage requirement.
