Server - Banquets

This is a part-time position responsible for delivering and serving food and beverage items to banquet guests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner. Assist with set-up and teardown, and support other banquet staff. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assist with dining area and buffet line set-up as needed.
• Serve guests at buffet line with standard portion sizes, considering guest requests.
• Ensure the timing and flow of service is correctly paced.
• Set up serving trays and carry trays to the dining area.
• Refill beverages, rolls, and condiments as needed.
• Communicate with wait staff, cooks, and managers about guest needs and business levels.
• Bus tables, carry plates and glasses to bus or dish stations.
• Assist with breakdown of events.
• Exhibit menu, beverage, and wine knowledge.
• Adhere to all state liquor laws and health regulations.
• Follow Palisades Tahoe safety policy and all other company standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Strong sense of customer service and safety awareness.
• Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Neat and clean appearance in compliance with company grooming standards.
• Punctual, able to report at scheduled start time.
• Work well as part of a team.
• Able to remain patient, calm, and composed in a fast-paced, high-volume, demanding environment.
• Able to multi-task and handle high-volume service demands.
• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of serving experience.
• Must have or be able to obtain a California Food Handlers card.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to walk, talk, see, and hear.
• Capable of walking or standing for most of an 8-hour work shift.
• Capable of occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 35 lbs.
• Capable of occasionally squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, balancing, climbing ladders, and shoveling snow.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

• Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, including extreme cold, wetness, humidity, blizzards, and storm conditions.
• The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate.

Pay

Base hourly pay range: $15.50 - $23.00 per hour. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, training, location, merit system, production, responsibilities, and travel. This range is one component of the total compensation package, which may include short-term and long-term incentives and region-specific benefits.
