About the role

The server plays an essential part in Ted’s Café Escondido Restaurants’ operations. The server is a vital role because most of the guests’ interaction is with this position. To create an atmosphere of comfort for guests, the server must maintain professionalism and a positive attitude. A server at Ted’s must combine the highest level of service with a relaxed and friendly style. Teamwork is essential to maintain consistently superior service and ensure guest return visits.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Ted’s standard of service is given to every guest, every time
• Anticipate guests' needs
• Have full knowledge of the menu and be able to effectively answer guest questions
• Have full knowledge of the Aloha system
• Be punctual and in full uniform for each shift
• Follow all guidelines, policies, and procedures of Ted’s Café Escondido Restaurants
• Follow the nine steps of service at every table
• Ensure all health and sanitation guidelines are followed at all times
• Adhere to the buddy system and take responsibility for your actions
• Ensure hot food is a priority
• Maintain a positive attitude at all times
• Declare all tips
• Perform all side work and setup/breakdown duties as assigned

• Be knowledgeable of your specific responsibilities in the event of an emergency

Work Conditions

• Subject to potentially upset guests and staff
• Involved with guests and staff under all conditions and circumstances
• Varied working hours may include weekends, holidays, late evenings, and early mornings as needed
• Must be able to stand and/or walk 8+ hours daily
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs. frequently
• Frequent bending, reaching, grasping, and climbing
• Occasional squatting, kneeling, crawling, and fine manipulation

Requirements

• Previous restaurant experience – 6 months minimum
• Possess strong interpersonal relations skills
• Professional in attitude, demeanor, and dress
• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure

Pay

$18-20/hr
