We are looking for Servers to join our team at Morningside House of Spotsylvania, a leading memory care community in Fredericksburg, Virginia. About the role
The Server provides assistance in all food functions as directed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures, serving our residents. This position reports to the Director of Dining Services.
Schedule
Flexible shifts between 6:30 am and 8:00 pm. Part-time and PRN positions available.
Responsibilities
- Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
- Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis.
- Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
- Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, including cleaning tables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, sweeping and mopping floors, and carrying soiled utensils to wash areas.
- Return clean utensils to proper storage areas and keep work areas clean, dry, and free of hazardous equipment or supplies.
- Set up meal trays, food carts, and dining rooms as instructed.
- Assist cook in preparing meals.
- Distribute and collect menus, obtain food supplies for the next meal, and assist in checking diet trays before distribution.
- Deliver food carts and trays to designated areas and serve food in the dining room as instructed.
- Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures, ensuring utensils are readily available for the next meal.
- Prepare and deliver snacks as instructed.
- Maintain adherence to Morningside House of Spotsylvania standards.
- Strive to maintain a safe working environment through accident prevention, equipment preservation, and safe working practices.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors, and co-workers.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
