Responsibilities

• Serve 3–5 tables, as determined by management.
• Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
• Demonstrate complete knowledge of the restaurant’s food and beverage preparation.
• Use a computer to ring orders on a check.
• Communicate with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone, and body language at all times to make guests feel appreciated.
• Anticipate guest needs and offer assistance before being asked.
• Work as a team with all restaurant personnel to maintain an effective atmosphere and efficient food and beverage service.
• Accept different types of payment and make correct change.
• Limit problems and liability related to guests' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading guests to stop drinking or arranging transportation for intoxicated guests.
• Maintain specific side-work and ensure the total cleanliness and smooth operation of the restaurant.
• Clear and reset tables.
• Report to work in a neat and clean uniform with well-groomed hair and personal hygiene.
• Carry plates to tables.
• Perform other duties as directed.

Requirements

• Alcohol Service certification is a plus.
• Basic mathematical skills to handle money and give correct change.
• Basic reading and computer skills.
• Knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits, including familiarity with standard drink recipes.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule

This is an hourly paid position with varying days and hours based on business needs. The restaurant operates seven days a week, with shifts starting as early as 9 AM and ending as late as 2 AM.
