Description
The Server is responsible for supporting dining room services to ensure an efficient dining experience for residents. This position may fill one or all of these roles: waitperson, bus person or runner.
- Promptly take food orders from the residents and deliver to the kitchen, and then deliver the ordered food to the resident in a timely and courteous manner.
- Know and follow the Principles of Correct Service.
- Know and follow proper food handling and infection control techniques in order to maintain the dining room in a sanitary and orderly condition.
- Bus tables and support the dining room staff.
- Clean and reset the dining room tables by following the table setting standards.
- Prepare garnishes and condiments as assigned.
- Restock dining room table supplies as assigned.
- Perform all assigned nightly cleaning tasks or side jobs as designated by the dining room supervisor or food service manager.
- Train new wait staff as assigned.
- Attend scheduled meetings.
- Communicate with residents and customers in person and by phone.
- Work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers, residents and their families.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Conduct that reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC).
Essential Qualifications
- Christ-centered belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior.
- A committed Christian who is dedicated to continued spiritual growth and development as evidenced through a growing personal walk with God (e.g. daily spiritual rhythms of prayer, fellowship, Bible study, etc.).
- Prayfully seeks God’s will in their own lives and in their ministry at CRISTA.
- Engages our ministry including staff and colleagues through prayer, participation in spiritual practices, leading devotionals and other spiritual practices.
- Affirms, aligns with and supports CRISTA’s Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Statement (CCC).
- Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader.
Education
- Must be able to read, write, communicate in and interpret English at a functional level.
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using fractions, whole numbers and decimals.
Experience
- Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience.
- Licenses/Certifications: Washington State Food Handler’s Permit.
