Responsibilities

• Prepare beverages and set up beverage stations daily
• Set up meal service timely according to schedule
• Maintain and stock utensils for daily meal service
• Serve patients, staff, and visitors in a professional manner
• Washing dishes and putting up clean and sanitized dishes to appropriate areas
• Clean kitchen and equipment as needed or according to routine cleaning schedule
• Absolutely obey all sanitation and safety rules and complete assigned weekly cleaning duties
• Assist with cleaning projects, sweeping, mopping, garbage removal as assigned
• Stock and straighten storerooms, coolers, and freezers as directed
• Attend in-service classes as required
• Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance
• Regular attendance
• Work in a cooperative manner with co-workers, managers, patients, and prospective patients
• Work in a constant state of alertness to perform the job in a safe manner
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of sanitary food preparation procedures and general equipment use and cleaning
• Two years food service experience in a health care setting preferred
• Read, write, and speak so as to communicate and follow written/oral instructions
• Ability to see at 20/40 corrected in each eye and hear (hearing aid acceptable)
• Ability to stand on your feet continuously for an 8-hour shift
• Ambulate through kitchen
• Able to bend and lift objects up to a maximum of 10-15 lbs. or over 20 lbs. with assistance
• Operate food service and dishwashing equipment safely

Hours may vary based on department needs, but typically range from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
