About the role

The Applebee’s server will delight guests by exceeding expectations through serving food and beverages, accommodating guests’ needs in a courteous and timely manner, and following Applebee’s Basic Service Steps and the Service Promise. The server fosters a culture aligned with the TSFR Roadmap, including the company’s Core Purpose, Vision, Mission and Core Values.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and interact with every guest to create a friendly, upbeat work environment
• Familiarize guests with the menu and make appropriate suggestions when requested
• Take guests’ orders and input them correctly in the POS using the write, repeat and review rule
• Serve food and beverages using the Applebee’s TEAM delivery system
• Pre-bus tables and sweep the surrounding area to keep it clean and comfortable
• Collect payment from customers in a timely manner using the QR code or POS
• Complete daily cleaning tasks and maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Anticipate guests’ needs to facilitate an enjoyable dining experience

• Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Ability to be mobile for a minimum of 4 hours, bend, stoop and lift up to 20 pounds
• Be of legal age to serve alcohol

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables; interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Physical Demands: Frequently required to sit, talk, hear, walk, use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, and reach with hands and arms; may occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds; specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• Psychological Demands: Frequently required to work in a team environment, handle a fast-paced environment, be flexible and willing to accept change, and communicate with others both verbally and in writing.
• Work Environment: May occasionally travel in an automobile to other locations in the field either alone or accompanied by a co-worker.
