About the role
The Server Assistant is responsible for setting and clearing food and beverage items to and from tables in the dining room. They provide Club Members and guests with the finest service while creating a warm and friendly environment.
Responsibilities
- Facilitates food service.
- Serves bread, butter and water as Members and guests are seated.
- Assists in carrying food trays to and from the kitchen.
- Assists servers in their tasks of serving Members and guests.
- Cleans tables, carries dishes and trays and replenishes linens, silverware, glasses and dishes.
- Cleans and polishes surfaces in restaurant areas.
- Mops and vacuums floors.
- Cleans spilled food, drinks and broken dishes.
- Removes empty bottles and trash.
- Wipes tables and seats and clears tables.
- Breaks down trays in dish area as they are brought back from the floor, placing silverware in soaking bins, glassware in appropriate racks, and stacking like dishes together.
- Places linen and trash in an appropriate location.
- Removes soiled linen and/or placemats from table and replaces with clean items.
- Anticipates the needs of Members and guests to provide proactive service at all times.
- Sets tables with silverware, glassware, china, and clean linen or placemat, as required by reservations.
- Keeps ice bins filled and replenishes when needed.
- May be required to move furniture around for special events and parties.
- Completes opening and closing side work as assigned.
- Maintains a neat, professional appearance with proper nametag and uniform throughout each shift.
- Always maintains complete confidentiality.
Requirements
High School diploma or GED and 5 months’ related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous country club experience would be advantageous. Northstar experience preferred. Safe Staff certification required.
