Server - Arbor at Avamere Court

About the role

A Server in a memory care, assisted living and/or independent living facility provides excellent dining service to residents, ensuring a positive and enjoyable meal experience.

Responsibilities

• Accurately record and deliver meal and beverage orders from residents.
• Promptly and courteously deliver food and beverages to residents, ensuring attractive presentation.
• Provide attentive and friendly service, checking on residents' needs during meals and addressing requests or concerns.
• Set up the dining room before meals, including table settings and condiments, and maintain cleanliness throughout service.
• Clear tables after meals and reset them for the next service.
• Take and deliver room service orders to residents' apartments.
• Answer residents' questions about the menu and special dietary needs.
• Interact with residents and guests professionally and courteously to create a positive atmosphere.
• Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation.
• Collaborate with wait staff and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient meal service.
• Dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned appropriate to the position.

Requirements

• Knowledge of high standards of food service sanitation and safety, typically acquired through on-the-job training.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, including frequent hand washing and securing hair away from the face.
• Interpersonal skills to establish effective relationships with department workers and other departments.
• Ability to learn to operate kitchen equipment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Current Food Handlers card issued by the local Health Department.
• Knowledge of dietary practices and procedures, as well as related laws and regulations.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.
