Sergeant - Security - Evening Shift Including Rotating Weekends

About the role

Supervisor provides day-to-day supervision of security officers at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, a 591-bed hospital affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College. The role coordinates deployment of security personnel to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This is a full-time evening shift position including rotating weekends, located on-site at the Brooklyn campus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise security officers on a day-to-day basis
• Coordinate deployment of security personnel
• Conduct building and property patrols
• Perform periodic inspections
• Evaluate work performance of officers
• Complete neat and legible incident reports

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• NYS Security License
• 3 years of experience
• Special Patrolman status
• 8 & 16 Hour Security Course completion
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 90 days of starting; must maintain certification every 2 years
• Basic computer skills
• Knowledge of Fire Safety
• Basic supervisory skills
• Basic training skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, military experience, or 2 years of collegiate courses in criminal justice or related field
• Supervisory experience
• Driver's License (strongly preferred)
• NYCFD Certificate of Fitness as Fire Safety Director

Pay

Salary range: $37.37–$44.84 per hour

Schedule

• Full-time evening shift
• Rotating weekends required
• On-site presence required; must live within commutable distance to NYP Brooklyn Methodist Hospital
• No travel expense reimbursement
