Sergeant - Prisma (#020929) Hospital Security Team, Columbia (RICHLAND)
Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision of the hospital lieutenant, responsible for the overall supervision of subordinate security assigned to MUSC Chester hospital. Responsible for the supervision, custody, and control of all inmates assigned to the hospital. Assumes primary responsibility for security of all hospital staff and property. Makes routine checks of all rooms housing inmates to ensure subordinate staff are performing duties properly and safely. Assists with all inmates being admitted into the hospital. Investigates complaints, violations, and arbitrates disputes among inmates, correctional staff, and hospital personnel.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
- State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and relevant experience. A bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience.
- SCDC Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and two years experience in correctional, security, military, or police work, one (1) year of which must be in a medium/maximum setting.
- Must be certified by the SCDC Training Academy and successfully complete the basic supervisory course within six (6) months of entry into the position.
