About the role
Under the supervision of the SECR Stewarding, Culinary, or Food and Beverage Supervisor, you will maintain the highest standards of cleanliness for guests and associates.
Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, glasses, pots, pans by hand or dish machine.
- Restock dishes and glassware.
- Keep all dishwashing areas cleaned and stocked.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Maintain and care for all equipment to keep it in “as new” condition.
- Assist in cleaning the kitchen.
- Maintain knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals, including safe use and handling.
- Store all items properly and at par levels.
- Complete all work in a timely and efficient manner.
- Keep all kitchen and wares washing areas clean and supplied.
- Stage and ready wares for operations.
- Deliver dirty linens to laundry.
- Polish all silver in all areas.
- Communicate effectively with supervisor, co-workers, and the general public.
- Remove trash and recyclable items from kitchen areas.
- Remain professional in interactions with guests and associates.
- Support team dynamics on the job.
- Perform additional duties as assigned (e.g., washing/peeling vegetables, rudimentary knife work, cooler maintenance).
- Maintain all sanitation rules and regulations.
- Pass SECR Food Safety Training Certification Test.
- Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have an organized and thorough work ethic with a strong desire to provide service.
- Must pass a background check to meet employment eligibility requirements.
- Must pass annual ServSafe Food handling classes.
- Native American preference applies.
Qualifications
- Kitchen cleaning experience (desired).
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and utensil maintenance, cleaning, and washing.
- Knowledge of safe practices in a kitchen environment.
- Ability to create a friendly atmosphere and demonstrate excellent guest service.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to follow instructions furnished in written and oral form.
- Ability to work hard and follow provided exceptional people skills with a high level of enthusiasm and professionalism.
Physical Demands
- Frequent use of hands, wrists, and fingers for daily cleaning tasks (e.g., washing dishes, sweeping, mopping, polishing).
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Bend, stoop, and kneel.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
- Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment with contact with the general public.
- Constant visual stimulation (e.g., neon lights, changing machine video screens, flashing signs).
- Exposure to loud machinery, crowd noise, chemicals, pesticides, and varied temperatures.
- Exposure to heat, cold, fumes, and steam in a kitchen.
- May be exposed to electrical shock, burns, and slips due to greasy or wet conditions.
- Work under high volume, stressful conditions.
- Work schedule includes weekends, holidays, and varying shifts to provide 24/7 coverage (extended hours and irregular shifts may be required).
Pay
$14.00 per hour.
