Position Summary
This position is responsible for managing and executing Perrill's search and AI visibility practice. This is a player-coach role: you'll set strategy and coach a team of search specialists while staying hands-on in the work yourself running audits, building strategies, and delivering results for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coach the team
- Lead and manage Perrill's team of SEO/GEO specialists, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance oversight.
- Set priorities, balance workloads, and raise the bar on quality across the practice.
- Drive search and AI visibility strategy
- Develop and execute SEO and GEO strategies that grow organic traffic and AI-driven search visibility for clients.
- Perform technical SEO analysis, audits, keyword research, content optimization, and on-page/off-page strategy.
- Use Perrill's PAVE platform and AI visibility reporting process to diagnose where brands are winning or losing in AI search and turn that into client roadmaps.
- Stay ahead of algorithm updates, AI search developments, and emerging best practices and translate them into how we work.
- Own analytics and reporting for the practice
- Own analytics and reporting standards for the search and GEO practice across Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and Looker Studio.
- Build and maintain dashboards and performance measurement systems.
- Analyze complex datasets to surface trends, opportunities, and actionable recommendations.
- Partner and contribute to growth
- Serve as a strategic resource for client teams, communicating performance insights and recommendations clearly.
- Collaborate with content, paid media, web development, and account management.
- Support new business, contributing audits, AI visibility reports, and search strategy to pitches and proposals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Role Mix
Roughly 60% hands-on execution / 40% leadership and strategy.
What Success Looks Like (First 6-12 Months)
- Has taken ownership of the search/GEO practice's standards and quality, with the team operating against a clear playbook.
- Is delivering measurable organic and AI-visibility gains across a book of clients.
- Has become a go-to contributor on new-business pursuits where search and GEO are in scope.
- Is recognized internally as the person who keeps Perrill ahead on AI search.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience.
- 2+ years of team leadership, mentorship, or management experience.
- Strong command of technical SEO, on-page optimization, content strategy, and local SEO.
- Genuine curiosity about and early hands-on experimentation with AI search (ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, etc.)
- Advanced proficiency with Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and Looker Studio.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to problem-solve, interpret, and communicate complex data
- Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated hands-on GEO/AEO experience or a track record of building AI-visibility strategy.
- Digital marketing agency experience.
- Experience with AI-powered analytics and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with BigQuery, SQL, or advanced data analysis tools.
- Experience building executive-level dashboards and reporting systems.
- Google Analytics, Google Ads, or SEO-related certifications.
- Experience presenting strategy and performance insights to clients and stakeholders.
