About the role
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr Principal Software Engineer to support the Sentinel program in Roy, Utah. This role involves software development for the Digital Ecosystem EMAS organization, contributing to revolutionary systems that impact lives globally.
Responsibilities
- Design and define system architecture for new or existing software products.
- Develop software in an agile development environment.
- Design automated test procedures for software verification activities.
- Collaborate with the lead software engineer and a team of software engineers to establish and develop automated tools.
- Develop Software Test Plans and Procedures for team software products.
- Develop Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) processes and tools, including deployment strategies.
Requirements
- 8 years of experience with a Bachelor’s in Science; 6 years with a Master’s; or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with Agile and cross-functional Scrum teams.
- Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite, including Jira and Confluence.
- Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Familiarity with Software Development Plans and Software Engineering best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
- 3+ years of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule with proven results.
- Proficiency with DOORS, Cameo, and ability to develop and decompose system requirements.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) languages (SysML/UML) and concepts, Node.js.
- Ability to evaluate risks and tradeoffs and present solution options to management.
- Experience interpreting complex algorithms and requirements for implementation.
- Familiarity with Systems Engineering processes.
- Ability to provide and implement solutions to advanced problems requiring ingenuity and innovation.
- Excellent technical leadership, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, effectively engaging with stakeholders.
- Capable of working with minimal direction, independently determining and developing technical objectives.
Pay
Primary level salary range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00. The final offer considers scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Vice Presidents or Directors may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
