About the role

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Launch Execution Systems Engineering Manager 3 for the Command Systems Hardware OU. This position supports the Sentinel program, focusing on ICBM Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the CS HW Launch Ex team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and quality assurance, to define product requirements and specifications.
  • Develop and implement engineering processes and standards to enhance product quality and efficiency.
  • Oversee the design, development, and testing phases of new products, ensuring alignment with market needs and strategic goals.
  • Manage the product lifecycle from conception to launch, conducting risk assessments and ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technological advancements to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
  • Manage MBSE products for development lifecycle; requires extensive MBSE knowledge base.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or Master’s degree in STEM with 6 years of related experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of related experience or a Master’s degree with 9 years of experience in STEM.
  • An active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope (< 6 years), with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
  • EVMS/CAM experience.
  • Project management experience and experience with Agile methodology.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8 years of related experience or a Master’s degree with 9 years of experience in STEM.

  • Proven performance as an Engineering Leader in all phases of acquisition, design, integration, and execution.
  • Demonstrated mentoring and guidance to engineers.
  • Working knowledge and/or experience across engineering disciplines.
  • Experience with distributed command and control systems engineering implementation.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a formal management position, managing one or more engineering teams.
  • Strong communication, cross-functional integration, and interpersonal skills, capable of working with various stakeholders.
  • Experience on ICBMs.
  • Experience creating or growing new sections or departments.
  • Experience managing an engineering team.
  • Familiarity with Agile engineering and Jira.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $166,700.00 - $250,100.00
