About the role

We are seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join a growing California defense practice. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who values autonomy, professional growth, flexibility, and a collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage your own workers' compensation defense caseload from inception through resolution.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Appear at MSCs, lien conferences, hearings, and trials.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and litigation guidance to employers, insurance carriers, and TPAs.
  • Negotiate favorable settlements and litigate cases when necessary.
  • Collaborate with experienced attorneys and support staff in a team-oriented environment.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and practical legal solutions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of California workers' compensation defense experience.
  • Active California Bar license and good standing.
  • Strong knowledge of California workers' compensation law and WCAB procedures.
  • Excellent deposition, negotiation, and litigation skills.
  • Ability to independently manage a caseload while working collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Strong written advocacy and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, attention-to-detail, and case-management abilities.

Pay

$150,000 - $195,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Hybrid work arrangement.

Active California State Bar License required.
