Summary The Senior Wealth Planner is a critical member of Allworth’s Wealth Planning Team, responsible for delivering customized, technically sophisticated planning solutions for high-net-worth and ultra-high net worth clients and families. This role requires deep experience in estate planning, advanced tax strategies, and multigenerational wealth planning, and wealth stewardship along with the ability to navigate complex family, business, philanthropic, and liquidity planning needs. The Senior Wealth Planner frequently collaborates with Allworth Advisors, the Custodial Referral Program team, and the Head of Private Wealth Strategies to deliver a seamless, high-touch planning experience. Experience working with clients in the $10M - $50M+ net worth segment—including private business owners, executives, family-office style planning needs—is highly valued. Duties And Responsibilities Strategic Case Planning & Internal Collaboration (30%)Serve as lead planner on complex engagements requiring multi-disciplinary solutionsPartner with internal stakeholders to design integrated planning strategies across estate, tax, business, philanthropic, liquidity, and legacy planningCollaborate with Advisors, Custodial Referral Program partners, the Head of Private Wealth Strategies, and advanced planning specialists to ensure cohesive strategy developmentIdentify planning considerations arising from family dynamics, multi-generational decision-making, beneficiary readiness, business succession, and family governance needs Advanced Tax, Estate Planning, and Investment Expertise (30%)Design, evaluate, and implement advanced planning strategies (e.g., GRATs, SLATs, IDGTs, FLPs, CRTs/CLTs, charitable strategies, concentrated stock solutions)Address federal and multi-state tax implications for high-net-worth individuals and familiesSupport wealth transfer, succession, and liquidity strategies for private business owners and multi-generational wealth structuresEvaluate planning opportunities related to concentrated wealth, business sale liquidity events, asset titling and ownership structures, trust-owned assets, charitable vehicles, and tax-efficient wealth transfer strategiesHigh level of proficiency with core investment concepts including asset allocation, interpreting risk and return statistics of a portfolio, and identifying opportunities to improve a portfolio’s diversification or modify to align with a client’s goals and objectives Client-Facing Plan Development and Delivery (30%)Produce tailored financial plans using eMoney and MoneyGuidePro, integrating client-specific goals and technical modelingJoin client meetings as a subject matter expert, providing clear and actionable advice across complex topicsEnsure deliverables are high-quality, timely, and aligned with the Allworth value proposition Mentorship & Thought Leadership (10%)Mentor junior and mid-level planners within the Wealth Planning Team and Associate AdvisorsContribute to the enhancement of firm-wide planning strategies, tools, and workflowsStay current with industry trends, regulatory updates, and planning innovations relevant to high net worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Financial Planning, Accounting, or related fieldCFP® required; CPA, CFA, JD, LLM, or other advanced credentials in tax, estate planning, or investments strongly preferredMinimum 10 years of financial planning experience, including substantial engagement with high- and ultra-high-net-worth clientsFamiliarity with planning for individuals and families with $10M - $50M+ in net worth, including private business owners, executives, concentrated wealth, trust and estate structures, liquidity events, family governance, and business succession strategiesStrong technical knowledge of estate planning structures, tax law, charitable planning, and investment-related considerationsExcellent interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex strategies clearlyProficiency with financial planning software such as eMoney and MoneyGuideProAbility to travel up to 5% (may change as needed) Experience And Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in finance, financial planning, economics, or related field (or equivalent work experience).2–3 years of experience in financial services, with exposure to planning support, data entry, and documentation processes.Familiarity with financial planning software (e.g., eMoney, MoneyGuidePro) is highly preferred.Demonstrated interest in pursuing professional designations (e.g., CFP®, CFA, CPA) is a plus.Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; enjoys collaborative teamwork.Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Salesforce or similar CRM is advantageous.Must be in good compliance standing with all relevant regulations, rules, and internal policies. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, lift at least 15 pounds, file documents in high or low cabinets, to use the telephone and to use the computer systems.
