About the role

Supports Wealth Advisory Services integrated delivery of products and services consistent with the financial goals of clients and IST recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Support assigned Investment Advisor(s) in preparing for client meetings and providing support.
  • Prepare portfolio recommendation letters for advisory and co-trustee accounts, AO coordination's or best fit recommendations, and investment performance reviews.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of Bank resources to facilitate client service delivery and expand client relationships.
  • Participate in internal meetings as well as pre- and post-call planning as a support resource to partners in the latter stage of the sales process, including Private Client Advisors, Financial Advisors, Relationship Managers, and other partners.
  • Develop an understanding of changes in the industry, including Federal and state-specific regulations.
  • Participate in sales efforts; identify and develop additional opportunities with existing clients.
  • Maintain positive working relationships. Under direction, provide necessary support and information to clients, Private Client Advisors, Trust Advisors, and others for all investment products.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Integral to the position is the ability to communicate internally with Bank management and executives and externally with clients and their representatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 4 years’ higher education and/or work experience.
  • General understanding of stocks and bonds.
  • Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
  • Proficient personal computer skills with solid knowledge of pertinent office software.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Proven experience working effectively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $77,300.00 – $128,900.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
