Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager
About the role
Merrick & Company is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager in our Denver, Greenwood Village, Colorado Springs, or Loveland, Colorado offices. This position requires an experienced project manager with a history of successfully winning and delivering projects. Local/regional candidates are preferred (hybrid schedule). Remote candidates will be considered if they are willing to travel to client sites and local offices 2x per month.
Responsibilities
- Direct and manage a multi-discipline team of design engineers or technicians on water and wastewater projects.
- Provide input to and participate in strategic planning for the team.
- Work closely with Business Unit management team to identify growth, project delivery, staffing, and financial performance.
- Achieve project goals by leading design teams and performing independent planning and design tasks, reviewing the designs of others, preparing construction documents, and managing the successful delivery of assigned projects.
- Exercise initiative, judgment, and knowledge commensurate with the responsibilities of the position.
- Interface effectively with clients and community members.
- Provide input to and participate in strategic planning for the team.
- Manage independent design tasks, peer reviews, prepare construction documents, and organize project deliverables.
- Manage project design and permitting teams.
- Manage design teams including design engineers, CAD technicians, and subconsultants as part of project teams.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, government agencies, and community representatives.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering from an A.B.E.T. Accredited School.
- Twenty (20) plus years of experience in infrastructure engineering with fifteen (15) years in Project Management.
- Colorado Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Strong technical design experience in water and wastewater projects.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery.
- A valid driver's license, a good driving record, and be insurable under Merrick’s insurance carrier.
- Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Travel required.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering preferred but not a requirement if successful project experience is demonstrated.
- Envision (ENV SP) from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure credential preferred but not required.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience in water and wastewater projects.
- Knowledge of State and Federal regulations.
- Experience with construction observation.
- Proficiency in client development and proposal preparation.
- Experience managing design teams across different offices or geographies.

Pay
Salary range: $80,000 - $120,000 annually.
Schedule
Hybrid schedule preferred, with occasional travel to client sites and local offices 2x per month.
