Responsibilities
- Technical lead for pipeline rehabilitation and design.
- Interface with client and regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with other pipeline design experts to develop and review design and construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Conduct field inspections and pipeline condition assessments to ensure compliance with design standards and regulations.
- Assess pipeline for remaining useful life and recommend renewal treatments.
- Work on projects related to pipeline failure analysis and pipeline forensics analysis.
- Work on projects from planning through design and construction services, for new and rehabilitation pipe designs, for water, sewer and stormwater infrastructure.
- Work on projects related to pressure pipe design and pipe stress analysis.
- Understand construction methods, such as open-cut and trenchless (micro tunneling, jack and bore, etc.) for sewer and water infrastructure.
- Provide technical guidance to AECOM project teams and mentoring junior level staff.
- Quality reviews of work by other AECOM project teams.
- Technical writing, reviewing, and providing clear, concise input to investigations, memorandums, engineering reports and documentations.
- Prepare engineering services proposals, fee estimates, and schedules.
- Stay current on industry trends and advancements and regulations in pipeline design and engineering.
- Disseminate current industry trends and advancements to junior staff.
- Participation in relevant industry organizations committees for standards and/or best practices development.
- Participation in AECOM’s Technical Practice Network groups, with opportunities for leadership.
Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Licensed PE
- 8 years of project experience in design of municipal water, wastewater and/or stormwater pipeline design, analysis, installation, and inspection.
- 8 years of experience in Mathcad / MATLAB and FEA.
- 8 years of experience working with pipeline design codes, standards, and regulations.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records Review.
