Senior Water Project Manager - Conveyance

Who are we looking for?

The Central US Water business of GHD is growing throughout Texas and is seeking a Senior Project Manager with expertise in water and wastewater conveyance systems. This role involves leading complex infrastructure projects, managing multidisciplinary teams, overseeing design and construction phases, and ensuring successful delivery of pipeline, pump station, and related conveyance projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, design, and implementation of water and wastewater conveyance projects, including pipelines, force mains, gravity sewers, and pump stations.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality control across all phases.
  • Cookordination with clients, permitting agencies, contractors, and internal technical teams.
  • Prepare and review engineering reports, design documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Support permitting and environmental documentation processes.
  • Conduct work to appropriate professional standards and to the firm’s QA/QC requirements.
  • Participate in QA/QC programs for other projects as requested by managers.
  • Perform schedule reviews on construction projects and maintain/develop schedules for design and construction of assigned projects.
  • Provide mentoring to engineering staff to support the team's technical skill development.
  • Manage projects' budget and schedule.
  • Lead proposal development efforts for new business.
  • Grow relationships with existing and prospective clients; this includes business development, sales, and marketing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in environmental or civil engineering.
  • Professional Engineer license in Texas or ability to acquire upon six months of hiring date.
  • 10+ years of water/wastewater design experience in municipal water, wastewater, water resource, and/or conveyance projects in the Central US region; preference to 10 years of experience in the Texas market.
  • Significant experience in de-salination plants, water and wastewater treatment, conveyance and pump station.
  • Significant experience in coordinating and simultaneously managing multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail, schedule and budget.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory/permitting agencies including TCEQ, and EPA.
