Senior Vice President, OPS Control Manager
About the role
The Senior Vice President, OPS Control Manager role is located in Pittsburgh, PA. This role involves:
- Identifying, analyzing, monitoring and minimizing business risks.
- Maintaining proper control policies and procedures.
- Managing multiple teams responsible for control testing and reporting on control standards.
- Developing training on policies and procedures concerning controls and risk management.
- Monitoring results on key risks, errors/near misses, reconciliations and root cause analyses.
- Analyzing and determining appropriate management intervention.
- Leading and contributing to policies for developing, documenting and analyzing existing control procedures.
- Ensuring team objectives are aligned to functional objectives.
- Managing complex projects that involve working with businesses to improve controls to mitigate any deficiencies.
- Ensuring controls meet regulatory and organizational standards.
- Contributing to strategic projects/initiatives for the function.
- Using in-depth knowledge of market trends to determine potential risks to the organization.
- Recruiting, directing, motivating and developing staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required; advanced degree preferred.
- 7-10 years of total work experience with 1-3 years of management experience preferred.
- Experience in the securities or financial services industry preferred.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to manage large or specialized teams of Control professionals or multiple teams, including matrixed and geographically dispersed teams.
- Demonstrated skills in recruiting, directing, motivating and developing staff to maximize individual and team contributions.
Skills
- Knowledge of market trends to determine potential risks to the organization.
