Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute the Chamber's full event slate, including 6 Connection Events, 8 Membership Meetings, and 1 Virtual Meeting
  • Write meeting scripts for each event
  • Manage all hotel logistics, including venue contracts, room setup, seating arrangements, and staging
  • Assign and coordinate event staff
  • Build and manage budgets for each individual event, and manage the events budget as a whole across the year
  • Execute special events as requested

Program Management

  • Roadrunner Program — Plan and organize a two-day goodwill ambassador trip for a group of 25 Albuquerque business leaders to selected cities in New Mexico
  • Congressional Delegation Leadership Trip — Manage logistics and execution of an 8-person leadership delegation trip to Washington, D.C.
  • Intercity Visits — Coordinate educational visits with Chamber volunteers as requested

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Report directly to the Executive Vice President of Operations, Finance and Events on event performance, budget status, and planning timelines
  • Work closely with the President & CEO, EVP of Government Affairs, Chamber Volunteer Leadership, and Executive Vice President of Operations, Finance and Events on speaker selection, program direction, and event strategy
  • Cook with Chamber staff and external vendors to ensure seamless execution across all events and programs

Who You Are

  • You have 4-5 years of experience in event planning, production, or program management, ideally within a membership organization, chamber of commerce, nonprofit, or hospitality/events environment
  • You know how to build an event budget and you know how to hit it — every time
  • You've negotiated hotel and venue contracts and you don't get rattled by logistics curveballs
  • You write clearly and confidently, and you're comfortable drafting scripts, programs, and event materials from scratch
  • You can run multiple events and programs at once without dropping a deadline
  • You're at ease with VIPs, sponsors, elected officials, and senior business leaders — and you know how to make them feel taken care of
  • You're willing and able to travel for the Roadrunner Program and the Congressional Delegation Trip
  • You're organized, detail-obsessed, and you notice the thing that's about to go wrong before it does
  • You're proactive by nature — you don't wait to be told there's a problem; you're already solving it

Compensation

Compensation — $90,000–$100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
