Responsibilities
- Possess ownership and refinement of the firm's global lateral recruiting strategy, aligning hiring priorities with business growth objectives across businesses and geographies.
- Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to senior leadership on talent market intelligence and competitive hiring dynamics.
- Manage, build out, and develop a high-performing lateral recruiting team, setting clear goals, standards, and processes.
- Drive end-to-end recruiting processes for experienced hires across all levels, from sourcing and candidate assessment through offer negotiation and onboarding.
- Lead senior-level and complex searches, personally managing relationships with Managing Director and Partner-level candidates.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to define role requirements, assess cultural fit, and move swiftly on compelling talent.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with executive search firms and direct talent networks in financial services.
- Oversee ATS management and ensure a best-in-class candidate experience throughout the hiring lifecycle.
- Define and continuously improve recruiting processes, tools, and reporting frameworks to support data-driven decision-making.
- Develop proactive talent pipelines for key strategic roles and future capability needs.
- Network internally to leverage existing employees' contacts from their prior firms.
- Partner with Human Resources colleagues on compensation strategy, offer design, and offer approval workflows.
- Participate in development and maintenance of recruitment budget.
- Serve as an ambassador for PJT's culture and value proposition in the external talent market.
- Develop strategies to enhance PJT's visibility and attractiveness as an employer of choice for experienced financial services professionals.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of recruiting experience, with a strong focus on financial services or investment banking talent; in-house experience at a leading investment bank or advisory firm strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading lateral recruiting functions and managing recruiting teams in a fast-paced, high-standards environment.
- Deep knowledge of investment banking roles, career paths, and talent markets across our businesses and corporate functions.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior business stakeholders and influence hiring decisions at the most senior levels.
- Track record of personally closing Managing Director and senior-level candidates in competitive situations.
- Strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to handle highly confidential information with professionalism.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills; executive presence and credibility with C-suite partners.
- Data-driven mindset with experience building recruiting metrics and reporting.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and process a high volume of work under pressure while maintaining the highest quality.
- Demonstration of a high level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
- Willingness to proactively identify issues and recommend solutions.
- Experience with Workday or a similar Applicant Tracking System a plus.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree a plus.
