About the role

Hirschbach, North America’s most trusted transportation solutions provider, seeks a high-performing Senior Vice President of Human Resources to join our Executive Leadership Team in Dubuque, IA.

What You Will Do

  • Lead efforts to align HR strategy with Hirschbach’s mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives.
  • Drive innovative talent management strategies, including recruitment, retention, leadership development, and succession planning that foster a productive, proactive, and engaged workforce.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy that supports organizational goals, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, and succession planning.
  • Analyze HR metrics and trends to provide data-driven insights for decision-making.
  • Manage the HR budget and resources effectively, optimizing investments in people and processes.
  • Partner with executive leadership team to drive the organization's culture, human resources and talent strategy, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employee law.
  • Advise senior leadership on organizational design, change management, and employee engagement strategies.
  • Provide guidance and support on HR-related issues, including knowledgeable coaching at all levels throughout the organization; find workable solutions to complex issues.
  • Optimize HR workflows for efficiency, ensuring processes are streamlined and effective in supporting business and employee needs.
  • Nurture a positive working environment and ensure high levels of employee engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations, mitigating legal risks related to employment practices.

What You Bring

  • 15+ years of progressive HR experience, with 5+ years in executive leadership roles.
  • Expertise in the transportation/logistics industry strongly preferred.
  • Proven success leading cultural transformation and strategic HR initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of employment law, talent management, organizational development, and employee relations.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MA/MS in HR or related field) preferred.
  • SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
