About the role

The Senior Vice President, Corporate Actions Manager role is located in New York, NY. This role involves leading the day-to-day management and strategic direction of the Corporate Actions team, overseeing the event lifecycle, partnering with internal stakeholders, driving client-centric culture, identifying process improvements, establishing a robust risk and control environment, and providing leadership and development to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day management and strategic direction of the Corporate Actions team, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of mandatory and voluntary corporate action events across multiple markets and asset classes.
  • Oversee the end-to-end event lifecycle, including event notification, client elections, entitlement processing, reconciliations, and exception management, while maintaining a strong focus on risk mitigation and control.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, including Risk, Compliance, Technology, Operations, and Client Service teams, to strengthen operational processes, resolve complex issues, and support business objectives.
  • Drive a strong client-centric culture by ensuring high-quality service delivery, anticipating client needs, and promoting transparency and responsiveness in all interactions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and accuracy through process redesign, automation, and the use of innovative technologies.
  • Establish and reinforce a robust risk and control environment by monitoring key issues, escalating concerns appropriately, and ensuring adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and market standards.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to team members, fostering an inclusive environment that supports engagement, accountability, and career growth.
  • Stay informed of industry developments, regulatory changes, and market practices impacting corporate actions to ensure the team remains aligned with best practices and evolving client expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10-15 years of experience in financial services or operations, with significant experience in corporate actions, asset servicing, or a related function.
  • Prior leadership and management experience, including leading teams through change in a complex, global organization.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate action event processing, market practices, operational risk, and control frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, solve complex problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Experience driving operational improvements, transformation initiatives, or technology implementations preferred.

Qualifications

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant work experience in financial services or operations, with significant experience in corporate actions, asset servicing, or a related function.
  • Proven leadership and management experience, including leading teams through change in a complex, global organization.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate action event processing, market practices, operational risk, and control frameworks.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the ability to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Experience in driving operational improvements, transformation initiatives, or technology implementations is a plus.

Pay

The base salary for this position is expected to be between $126,000 and $228,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

Schedule

This position is at-will, and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
