Senior Vice President, Assistant General Counsel

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Vice President, Assistant General Counsel to join the team of a leader in the Media space. This senior legal leader will guide the organization through a wide range of business, operational, and governance matters. The role partners closely with internal teams to provide practical counsel that supports growth, protects the business, and enables confident decision-making. It also plays a key part in managing contracts, shaping internal legal processes, and supporting complex matters that arise across the organization. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice across diverse operational areas of the company.
• Draft, review, and negotiate tailored contracts and policies.
• Develop and maintain relationships with various departments to offer actionable legal guidance.
• Act as a legal advisor for local exhibitions concerning labor relations and operational issues.
• Assist with litigation matters and manage external counsel as needed.
• Create and refine legal processes and templates to support company growth.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active membership in a state bar.
• At least 15 years of legal experience, including 10 years in-house at a media company.
• Broad legal knowledge across numerous subjects such as IP, real estate, and corporate governance.
• Exceptional drafting and communication skills.
• Strong judgment and analytical skills, with the ability to foresee legal risks.
• Collaborative mindset to work effectively with various departments and stakeholders.
• Proficient in time management and handling complex data.

Pay

$175,000 – $250,000 annually
