About the role

A Mobile Inspector II is responsible for conducting vehicle condition inspections on a client's lot. They document the overall vehicle condition and engage clients to increase inventory inspection volumes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough vehicle inspections
  • Verify vehicle information and enter it into the inspection system
  • Inspect and document vehicle equipment and options
  • Inspect and record vehicle exterior and interior conditions
  • Perform basic mechanical checks
  • Prepare and provide daily activity reports
  • Pivot and adapt to changes in daily appointments
  • Engage with clients to maintain active relationships
  • Represent Cox Automotive as a brand ambassador
  • Manage field operations and lease-end inspections
  • Perform dealership inventory audits
  • Generate accurate repair estimates
  • Collaborate with insurance companies and repair shops
  • Inspect vehicle condition for auction readiness
  • Assist in pricing strategy
  • Conduct detailed vehicle damage assessments
  • Work in a continuous improvement/Lean environment
  • Maintain production expectations set by the leader
  • Participate in safety activities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3 years of automotive-related experience
  • Connecticut Auto Appraiser License
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift and hold at least 30 lbs. for an extended period
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Motivated to work independently
  • Ability to multitask and follow directions
  • Physical ability and mental acuity to execute duties successfully

Qualifications

  • Safe driving skills
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Regular standing, walking, talking, hearing, bending, kneeling, reaching, crouching, and reaching inside or underneath vehicles
  • Ability to identify exterior and interior colors, deal with different lighting, and execute duties within required timeframes

Skills

  • Reading and interpreting financial documents
  • Basic understanding of accounting practices
  • Near vision abilities to find dings, scratches, paint work, hail damage, frame/unibody, and interior damage
  • Ability to deal with different lighting conditions
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong time management skills
  • Proven experience in handling conflict resolution
  • High level of personal integrity and ethical judgement
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient with technology platforms/applications
  • Experience in navigating handheld and other documentation devices
  • Body, paint, and mechanical repair knowledge
  • Familiarity with unibody and full-frame vehicles
